Another UFO

Cute little freebie from a British magazine. I need to dig out the correct issue to finish up the little guy.

This is the only project that has Work-In-Progress photos. It's pretty neat to be able to look back on the evolution of a design.

I think this one came from a British magazine (maybe Quick and Easy Cross Stitch).

UFOs

I'm going to go ahead and call this one a failed experiment. I thought it would be a good idea to try traditional embroidery, and that was a huge mistake.

I hated it. I think I haven't worked on this in ten years.

This was intended to be a Christmas present for one of my aunts. It has a spot, below the set of trees on the sign, where you can put the family's last name.
I had such a hard time charting out the name that I gave up on the project.

"A Night to Remember" - I think this was started around 1997. And I made tons of progress... not. It was really tough stitching on that dark blue fabric.


Pretty autumn angel. Mostly just backstitching left to finish this. I didn't know I even still had it.

Another huge project

One of my aunts lives in Maine, and I planned to give this to her.

That has obviously never happened.

I love the outline of the state next to each lighthouse, and I enjoyed stitching the names and states (it's such a pretty font).

The compass is mostly a metallic gold and I remember that being completely terrible to work with.

This did turn out pretty well. I should frame this one up.

My first BIG cross stitch project

I absolutely loved this kit when I saw it in the store and it took an incredibly long time to complete.

Unfortunately, I didn't sign this one, but I have a feeling this was finished before I was done with high school... perhaps as far back as 1993.

I love the visual story here... the beautiful new doll tossed on the floor with no regard, while the little girl cuddles up her raggedy, old, one-footed baby.

Unfortunately, this was before I used any tools (hoop, lap stand) so there is all kind of yucky sweat marks on the left-hand side. I'll wash it off if I ever decide to get frame this up.

Welcome!

The time has finally come. I've buckled and joined blog-land.

I really enjoy checking out what other stitchers are working on and I'm looking forward to sharing the work that I've done in the past and new projects as they come along.

Hopefully, this will help me take my "finished" projects out of the pile and force me to DO something with them (as in, actually turn them into a completed item).

Once my camera charges tonight, I hope to add a photo of my most recent project.
